Homework can be a struggle here are 5 tips for homework success

Create a working space for homework. Moving around each day from the living to the kitchen is not a good idea. Create a quiet space with plenty of room. Consider putting a small desk in the kitchen or family room, that way mom and dad can quickly help when there is a question.

Get organized! Create a homework calendar and binder for a way to keep track of daily and weekly assignments. Establish goals and rewards for work well done on a weekly basis.

Review homework assignments everyday at the same set time.

Make certain homework comes before extra -curricular demands like sports, and social groups. Soccer practice is no excuse for not completing assignments. And if your child is on a sports team keep the coach in the loop with progress reports. Make certain all adults are sending the same message about the importance of learning.

Know when to get help! If your child is struggling with math and you are struggling to help them understand – seek the help of teachers and tutors. Don’t get caught in the frustration zone.
